Voice Mail

Genesis accommodates up to 48 DID channels with T1 access facilities for numeric paging and up to 64 serial connections for alphanumeric paging, TAP routing and/or TNPP routing. Paging Carriers and Resellers may start with as few as 2 Numeric/V-mail ports and expand the system as they grow. The Network Management Module allows local or remote access to extensive management reports and system administration. Subscribers can be added or deleted and software updates can be accomplished remotely with proper authorization levels. The billing interface utilizes the Glenayre Computer Protocol or comma delimited fields for compatibility with the many billing programs available. Voice Mail Features

Genesis has a full complement of Voice Mail features. Callers accessing the pager/voice-mail box receive prompts which lead them through the options. A key-ahead feature allows the skipping of prompts for those that are familiar with the system. Custom greetings, skip message, archive message, delete message, personalized passwords, urgent message, time-of-day store and forward of messages, plus much more are available to subscribers.

When voice mail is delivered to a mail box, an alpha or numeric page is generated to notify the subscriber.

TNPP and TAP Routing

Genesis performs TNPP and TAP routing functions on either a stand-alone basis or in concert with other paging terminal functions. Serial ports may be configured to route TNPP or TAP traffic to multiple paging terminals or paging companies, local or remote. Dial-up/Internet remote access by system administrators allows for system changes and the collection of traffic statistics.

TNPP and TAP routing can also serve as a concentrator. This application allows one Paging Terminal port to receive traffic from many sources. Network facilities may be either dial-up, dedicated or direct connect circuits. The Network Management Module with remote dial-in access collects traffic statistics based on characters and number of messages sent or received. TAP IDs are verified against the system database or the valid range look-up table. Unwanted TNPP Page Types may be filtered allowing only the desired traffic to pass through your system. Full statistics are collected for all TNPP traffic allowing detailed reports of the number of messages and characters received for each page type and class from each system The TNPP Router can optionally log all CAPCODEs/IDs, Page Types, Page Classes, and message lengths to disk for billing and auditing.

TNPP over the Internet

By using TNPP over the Internet you can dramatically reduce your monthly cost of dedicated TNPP circuits. Each link is created as a private virtual circuit that is completely bi-directional and secure. Packets received from the Internet are routed using the same routing tables as serial TNPP traffic.

Internet SMTP and SNPP

Genesis fully supports both SMTP (e-mail) and SNPP (Simple Network Paging Protocol). This allows you to receive message traffic from the Internet, giving your customers the ability to receive their e-mail on their pager and to also send messages without using TAP. This can dramatically reduce the number of modems that would otherwise be required for large TAP concentrators.

Remote Administration

Genesis Remote Administration allows you to maintain your system from over the Internet allowing you to spend more time in your office rather that in equipment rooms. Remote Administration can also be used by resellers to activate and deactivate their accounts.

Alpha Concentrator

The cost and time to process alpha messages are reduced with the use of an Alpha Concentrator. Serving as a front-end to a paging terminal alphanumeric port, this feature expands the port capacity and off-loads the call processing function. The Alpha Concentrator passes only the processed alphanumeric data into the paging terminal. This increases the utilization and efficiency of the paging terminal alpha ports by a factor of up to 64:1 thus eliminating the need to buy additional expensive system ports. Substantial savings of up to 70% can be achieved. Alpha Concentrator units are available in 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 port models.
